Finding a decent tradesperson shouldn't be a gamble
Most people book a plumber or an electrician on a recommendation from a neighbour, or by picking a name off a search page and hoping. There is rarely any way to tell, before someone is standing in your hallway, whether they are insured or qualified to do the job.
Turbo Trader exists to do that checking first. Every trade listed here has handed over their paperwork and had it looked at by a person before their profile went live.
What we check
A person reads every application
Nothing is approved automatically. Someone here goes through each profile before it appears in search.
Public liability insurance
We ask for the certificate, check the cover is current, and record the date it runs out.
Identity and qualifications
Photo ID, proof of address, and any trade certificates, all checked before the profile is published.
We do not take a view on price, and we do not rank traders by how much they pay us. Listings are not advertising slots.

If you are a tradesperson
You will need photo ID, proof of address, your public liability certificate, any trade qualifications you hold, and a few photos of recent work. We check it once, then customers in your area can find you and message you directly.
